2nd Annual Summer Food Drive Helping Clark County Families
The Salvation Army, Findlay Acura and Sudden Impact
Auto Body partner to combat hunger
LAS VEGAS, NV (July 2, 2015) – The Salvation Armyserving Southern Nevada, Findlay Acura and Sudden Impact Auto Body will all
partner again for the 2nd Annual Summer Food Drive. This food drive, held from
July 17-31 is held to assist The Salvation Army in restocking its Family
Services food pantry.
“Summer is when our food pantry is hardest hit. We see an increase in clients seeking assistance with food, as
well as diapers, baby supplies and toiletries due to our high summer
temperatures when the cost of utilities climbs, and children are out of school
and not getting meals there. Many families have to make the choice between
buying groceries and paying utility bills,” says Captain Lisa Smith. Smith is
the Salvation Army Assistant Director of Social Services in Clark County and
says there’s always an increase in those needing assistance during the summer. Smith
goes on to say, “restocking the food pantry will help us help families not have
to make the difficult choice of paying their utility bills or feeding their
family.”
“Findlay Acura is proud to partner up again
with Sudden Impact Auto Body and the Salvation Army for our 2nd Annual Summer
Food Drive to help support our valley residents. Findlay Acura believes in our
community and realizes the importance and benefits of donating year round,”
stated Kevin Hicks, General Manager of Findlay Acura.
Summer is known as the time when
families take their vacation, but hunger doesn’t take a vacation. Findlay Acura
and Sudden Impact Auto Body recognize this and spearheaded this collaboration
for the drive.
“Our family at Sudden Impact Auto Body is committed to making our
community a better place. We believe no one should have to go hungry, and will
do everything we can to feed as many people as possible,” says Jose Gutierrez, President
of Sudden Impact Auto Body.
The Salvation Army Family Services at
1581 N. Main Street serves nearly 5000 Clark County residents per month during the
summer months. Items needed through the drive are nonperishable food items,
baby formula and diapers.

Next Generation Acura NSX Embarks on Cross-Country Road Trip
The Next Generation Acura NSX is on the road once again, but for the first time its hitting the streets undisguised without any camouflage.
Yesterday Acura revealed a production-ready red NSX and tweeted, “We’re taking the #AcuraNSXOnTour and road testing across the country. First stop was Chicago. Where to next?”
By the looks of it, the red NSX Twins have now made their way to the St. Louis area. Find out where the NSX twins are headed next by using the hashtag #AcuraNSXOnTour.
